How It Started 

Choose green or lose green was a project for my sustainability and art class. I chose a board game that is targeted towards kids. They are the ones inheriting the Earth and they need to be taught about good practices of living. Reaching them through graphics of a game is a great way to help them learn concepts. I wanted something fun and colorful and simple that they could read and be captivated by the patterns and drawings. I started with a simple illustration for the background keeping it light to layer on the shapes and path on top. I put the key at the bottom so the kids could easily recognize the shapes on the board. I wanted it to be even more interactive for the participants so I added the feature of being able to create your own tiles.
